so here’s the plan with NeverEnding Legacy :
from the feedback I’ve seen, most people seem to be of the advice that the game’s current mechanics are mostly fine; there’s also some comments about the game getting too easy and stable once you get housing.
based on this, I’ve decided to keep improving the game as it is, and perhaps actually make it a bit less like an idle game (stuff like architects tends to get out of hand very fast anyway, and needs to be at the very least redesigned). the game will lose its pretense of being anything like Cookie Clicker and be more like a slow-paced regular strategy game you play in your browser (or at least, something you’d keep an eye on every now and then).that being said, I also think it’d be nice to have a fun chill civ-themed idle game with hundreds of resources to play with that doesn’t go to shit if you don’t babysit it for 5 minutes, so I’m gonna keep that whole redesign in the back of my mind and perhaps prototype something fun out of it when/if I have some free time, though of course updating the existing game takes precedence. I think it’s always interesting to try fun new gameplay stuff and see what sticks, but I don’t want to alienate the players who enjoy the current gameplay, so this would be a separate game (though reusing a lot of the same content, so hopefully not too taxing on my workflow).
once again tho, I gotta finish this Cookie Clicker update first. see you within the next week or year, who knows
